Education

Our chapter supports local education by sponsoring the DAR American History essay contests for community children in grades 5-8. The essays are submitted in the fall with a winner selected and sent forward by spring to the state essay contest.

We present a Good Citizen award annually to a local high school senior.  The DAR Good Citizen program recognizes graduating seniors from area high schools who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship, dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.

Our Bulletin Board committee provides a new bulletin board design every month to our local schools. It is a great donation of our time and resources to help the schools and the children.

The chapter participates in several programs to provide support to NSDAR supported schools across the country.
